When is the library open?
Volunteers will assist you on Sunday mornings between services and after second service, and on Wednesday evenings when children, youth and adult programs are running. Patrons can also borrow materials when the library is closed via the sign-out sheet on the circulation desk.
How do I get a library card?
Simply visit the library and let one of the volunteers behind the circulation desk know that you would like one. If you are not in our church database, we will ask you to fill out an information card in order to add you to our system.
What is the loan period?
Three weeks for books and one week for DVDs and CDs. You can also renew materials that you need for longer than the standard loan period.
How do I sign out books?
When you sign up for a library card, we will show you how to use the self-check station. We can also sign out books for you at the circulation desk. If you would like to sign out a book when the library is not staffed, you may do so using the sign-out sheet on the circulation desk.
How do I return books?
Simply place the book in the return bin beside the circulation desk.
Do you have an online catalogue?
Our library catalogue is available online at http://emmanuelbarrie.mysurpass.net (external link). Explore the library's holdings, check the status of your account, renew books and access recommended reading lists at your leisure! You must sign up for a library patron ID and password in person at the library in order to access all of the online catalogue features.
The library catalogue is also available through the Library Trek app (available for free from the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices).
How can I sign up to be a library volunteer?
We are always looking for volunteers! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and a library team member will be in touch with further information.
How can I recommend books/media to the library?
Send an email to email@example.com with the title and author of your recommendation.
Do you accept donations?
We are currently accepting donations. Please give donations to a member of the library team on Sunday mornings.
What is the “Adopt a Book” program?
We are always looking for ways to add new materials to our collection. You can “Adopt” books that we want to add to our collection by purchasing the book, being the first one to read it, and then donating it to the library. To see a list of books up for adoption, please see the “Adopt a Book” bulletin board in the library or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
