Men’s Winter Retreat

Every year Emmanuel Men “retreat” to Muskoka Bible Centre for a time of fellowship, worship and growth.  It is a wonderful time to form new relationships with other men and deepen our relationship with the Lord.  Look for more information on this annual event on Sunday mornings in December as well on our News/Events feed here.

Women`s Bible Study

At Emmanuel, we want to give women every opportunity to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and in their walk with Him. Women in the Word is designed for that purpose. It is an in-depth women’s Bible Study, combining teaching from God’s Word and small group discussion. There are two options for study – Tuesday mornings at 9:30am and Wednesdays at 6:45pm (coincides with Outback, Eagles and Jr. High Elevate). For more information on our current studies, and upcoming ones, email jo.buck@emmanuelbarrie.org , or visit our events page here.

FAQs

Who joins Bloom?

Any mom parenting a child from birth through senior kindergarten is welcome at Bloom. Women at Bloom are all ages, stages and walks of life. They might attend church or might not. Everyone is welcome.

What can I expect?

Bloom meetings start with the fuel of motherhood – coffee and treats you didn’t make. We sit at the same table each meeting, and enjoy an encouraging speaker or relevant discussion topic. You can expect to be part of a caring and authentic atmosphere that helps women flourish in this stage of life. We get started around 9:30 and wrap up at 11:00 on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, from September till May. Bloom childcare is staffed by carefully screened and trained volunteers who love kids.

Is it a bible study?

No. Emmanuel offers several opportunities for bible study on Sundays and throughout the week. Childcare is often offered, and all are welcome. There are studies offered for all levels of experience with Christianity.

When is registration?

Bloom opens registration in early September each year. Spaces for childcare are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’d like to join Bloom after registration has closed, contact us at bloom@emmanuelbarrie.org for more info.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! If she’s a mom with a little one, bring her along. Let her know when registration opens, and the childcare expectations. Tell me more about the childcare…Childcare during Bloom is staffed by an amazing team of carefully screened and trained adult volunteers. At Bloom, preschoolers will enjoy a structured program with crafts, songs, bible stories and a snack. Infants are separated into developmental stages, and are cared for by loving adults. Because parents are down the hall, we simply contact you if your child needs you. Because we are diligent about adequate staffing, we only allot spaces in childcare according to how many volunteers we can recruit. Unfortunately, this means we often have a wait list for childcare spots. If you know an Emmanuel attender who’d like to volunteer in Bloom childcare, we’d love to hear from them!
